Abia Govt hands over Abia Rubber Company, Abam to private investor

In a bid to revive all moribund companies belonging to the state government, Abia state Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu today handed over the management of Abia Rubber Company to an investment company known as Great Nobles Integrated Limited.

Speaking during the handing over ceremony at Ndi Oji Abam, the acting Governor of the state, Rt. Hon. Ude Oko Chukwu who represented the Governor of the state assured that the state government under the able leadership of Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu is poised to revamp moribund companies in the state to create more employment opportunities for it's citizens with a view of boosting the economy of the state through massive revenue generation. The acting Governor also assured that the state government will at all time monitor the acrivities of the company to ensure better results. He however pleaded with the host community (Ndi Oji Abam) to give the company their full support in order to achieve the aim of the government which is for a better Abia tomorrow.

Receiving the hand-over documents on behalf of Great Nobles Integrated Limited, Rt. Hon. Acho Nwakanma assured the state government that the company will do everything possible in making sure that the rubber company is revived as soon as possible so as to meet the expectations of the state goveenment and Abians as a whole.
In their own separate speeches, the Commissioner for Agriculture, Rt. Hon. Uzo Azubuike and the permanent secretary ministry of Agriculture Umuahia, Barr. Mrs Uzoamaka Uche Ikonne thanked Governor Okezie Ikpeazu for the move to revive the rubber company and described it as a timely and necessary step to move the company forward.

The management of Abia Rubber company, management of Great Nobles Integrated Limited and top government officials were present during the ceremony.
