It's no longer news that the Abia branch of the All Progressive Congress (APC),has been in disarray over who leads the party in the state.

The protracted crisis between the Ikechi Emenike's faction and the Donatus Nwankpa's faction heightened as the two factions conducted their Local Government Area Congress separately.

Our reporter who monitored the Umuahia North LGA Congress, reported that the Emenike's faction had their Congress at the Umuawa Alaocha Primary School with chief Nelson Udenze emerging  as the chairman of the party for the local government, while Mr. Samuel Eromaka as Secretary.

For the Nwankpa's faction, their Congress was held at the party state secretariat with Israel Nwachukwu lording it over Pastor. Ken Ubani to win the LGA chairmanship.

Reacting after the victory, Mr. Isreal Nwachukwu expressed joy over his victory, saying he would use the position to reconcile aggrieved parties so that the party can realise its aim.

Briefing Journalists at the party state headquarters in Umuahia, the chairman of Abia APC Congress, Rt Hon Abdullahi Bello, said the Congress conducted by the Emenike's faction is not recognized by the Congress committee, saying that as far as Abia Congress is concerned, the party is one in the state and do not recognize any other faction.

Rt Hon Bello further revealed that only one result has been abducted for Umuahia North and it is the result of the Congress conducted in the party secretariat.

"Am not aware of any other Congress done in Umuahia North outside the one done in the party secretariat, we have one result so far for Umuahia North and we have abducted it," the Congress committee chairman revealed.
